AI Images
The prompt was “Please create an image of a diverse group of people who have suddenly found themselves transported to an alien planet. They are in a forest of very tall trees large mushrooms and strange flora under a night sky. Please create this in 16:9 aspect ratio.”
This is what Chat GPT generated using it’s native image generator:

And here is what Dall.E accessed through ChatGPT produced:

The biggest problem with Dall.E is that it generates images in WEBP format which need to be convered to PNG or JPG. But apart from that it’s a decent option and is free with ChatGPT.
Next is Google Gemini:

Clearly Gemini is not following my instruction to generate in 16:9 aspect ratio.
Next is Google Gemini accessed via Adobe Firefly.

The image here is similar but still not in 16:9 ratio.
These are images generated using Firefly’s own model

I like these two images generate on Adobe Firefly site using their own model. It appears that Adobe Firefly give you a certain amount of tokens to try-before-you-buy a paid subscription.
Canva took it upon itself to rewrite my prompt:
“A diverse group of explorers stand in awe amidst an alien forest under a starry night sky. Towering, bioluminescent trees with intricate patterns on their bark surround them, interspersed with colossal, glowing mushrooms in vibrant hues of purple and cyan. Strange, otherworldly flora with delicate, crystalline structures and pulsating lights dot the forest floor. The explorers, dressed in practical outdoor gear, gaze up at the celestial display and the surreal landscape, their faces illuminated by the soft, ambient light of the alien world. The scene is rendered in a realistic, cinematic style with a wide shot, emphasizing the vastness of their new surroundings, formatted in a 16:9 aspect ratio.”

Image generation is one of the resources that Canva offers. It’s worth exploring but not currently at the top of my list.
Deep AI doesn’t do 16:9 or landscape images but it does produce decent near square pictures and they’re free.

Deep AI wouldn’t be my first choice for image creation but it is worth visiting for its interactive storytelling strengths.
Microsoft Copilot is already part of Windows and it generates images – but it’s Windows and you have to login with your Windows account.
