Resisting Genocide
The talk by Haim Bresheet was, for me, the most interesting part of a very interesting meeting. The points that Haim makes about Jews, Zionism, Anti-Zionism and identity are a necessary part of the conversation. He is very honest and clear on a matter where most discussion is dishonest and confused. It is a puzzle that 95% of Israelis or something like that are in favour of the genocide odf the Palestinian people. What is it about the structure of a belief system like Zionism that enables genocidal thought? How is such thought different fron Nazi thought, from the thought of the colonists who destroyed the Native Americans and the Aboriginal people of Australia?
This meeting held in Bethnal Green on 27th November had been organised by IJAN whose website is worth a visit.
